John Timothy Hudson
Director of Operations
John Timothy Hudson is a seasoned financial executive and maritime exploration leader with over 40 years of experience in offshore projects and shipwreck recovery. A 1979 University of Tennessee graduate (B.S. in Business Administration), he served as CFO for Marine Archeological Research and Marex Oceanographic Services (1987–2004), negotiating international exploration rights and leading major salvage operations on historic wrecks such as the Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas, El Cazador, and SS Pulaski. Since 2021, he has been Director of Operations for Maritime Research and Recovery at SeaFoam 55 LLC, continuing his work in locating and reclaiming significant underwater sites worldwide.

Mike Leifeste
Chief Mate
Mike Leifeste is a licensed 200‑Ton Near Coastal Master with a background in dive operations and marine research. He has worked on dive and research vessels along the U.S. East Coast and through Alaskan waters supporting agencies such as NOAA and USGS, as well as leading universities. As First Mate aboard R/V Seafoam, Mike serves as Safety Officer, with crew and client safety always his top priority.

Tim Shortoff
Chief Engineer
is a USCG Unlimited Horsepower Chief Engineer with 25 years in the oil and gas industry. He’s overseen the operation and maintenance of engine rooms, offshore drilling systems, and subsea equipment, and is known for his deep expertise in diagnostics, automation, and complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
